Travel disruption ensures students capture even more from India visit A group of film students have encountered an international University trip which they’ll remember forever. Eight students and one lecturer from the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) embarked on the trip of a lifetime to India but the recent travel difficulties have proved inspirational for further filming opportunities.

The screenwriting and film production undergraduates set off in late March to spend three weeks in New Delhi at the Asian Academy of Film & Television conjuring up two short films during their stay. One member of the group, John Coxhead, has created a blog detailing the events of their epic journey.

Award Winning Croatian Director At AAFT

A special film and TV workshop has been conducted by the well known Croatian film maker Ljubica Jankovic Lazaric for the students of direction at Asian Academy of Film and Television [AAFT] in Noida Film City.
“ I am proud to introduce an award winning film maker who has recently won award for her documentary at International Film Festival Zagreb Dox in Croatia “ said Sandeep Marwah President Marwah Studios and Director of AAFT. “ She has directed more than 250 documentary films in countries like Germany, Australia, USA, Italy, Albania, Iran, and India.” Marwah informed.
I am elevated to be one of the faculty members at AAFT and would love to share my vast experience in documentary film making as a part of my duty” said Ljubica Jankovic Lazaric, the product of University of Zagreb and member of Croatian Film Director’s Guild. “My last film is covering a controversial subject of ‘being Lesbian’. Idea is to project the feelings and status of these people in society.” Ljubica expressed.
Later the international film maker Ljubica released the new publication of documentary cell of International Film and Television Research Centre ‘HARYANAVI CINEMA’ an initiative of Sushil Saini, an alumnus of AAFT, dept of Direction. Prof. Gurbir Garewal, Jt. Director AAFT also spoke on the subject. The event was supported by International Film and Television Club and Radio Noida.

National Workshop on Sustainable Development & Eco Philosophy

“God has given us resources to use not to misuse” said Swami Pranavasuddhan Tapaswi, incharge Santhigiri Ashram, New Delhi while introducing the subject of Ecology to the large gathering at Teen Murti on the second day of National seminar on ‘Sustainable Development and Eco Philosophy’ organized by the Santhigiri Rearch Foundation.

‘The main cause of changing ecology is the rising population and changing technology” said Sandeep Marwah president of Marwah Studios and Dy General, Convenor Coordination Committee. “The ecology difference effects Water, soil, atmosphere and living things. All this can be handled individually, organizational way and by government” Marwah condensed.

Dr Rohan D’Souza, Professor project incharge, Centre for Science Policy JNU explained and talked about his detailed research on the subject giving some interesting statistics. Others who spoke on the subject were Dr C.V.Babu Dept. of philosophy, Zakir Hussain College. Dr C.R.Babu, Emiritus Professor Project incharge, Biodiversity parks, New Delhi chaired the program and conducted it as well. “Lets try to change the mind set of people and induce them to work on this side to have balanced natural resources which means non polluted air, clean water, stable land & mountains and long life for human beings and animals” he added.

DrK.Gopinathan Pillai Dy General Convenor, Advisoty Committee, A.V.Nair General Convenor, Coordination Committee were also present there .The program is supported by Radio Noida 107.4FM.

Marwah Studios Join Hands with Prayatn

Bhawani educational and children care society is a social voluntary non-profit making registered organization established in 1999, which is jointly and enthusiastically working nationwide for the upliftment of the deprived disabled, underprivileged and BPL children / people who are considered as a perpetual curse by their own kith and kin and then by the society.

“The present state of disabled in India is not very pleasing and the future too appears to be absolutely dark and bleak” said Sandeep Marwah president Marwah Studios and now the patron of Bhawani educational and children care society. “The disabled in the society is not treated as human being. They are considered as a perpetual curse by the community. The existing attitude of masses is increasingly isolating them from the main stream of society, until all concerned awaken and do some-thing to alter the present conditions and earnestly look after the interests of the disabled children” Marwah added while talking to the national press and media students at Asian Academy of Film and Television [AAFT].

“BECCS realized that with little intensive efforts these children and people could be a normal and self reliant citizen of a country in all means (i.e. socially, economically, physically and morally) we took a step in this direction as considering it is our social and moral responsibility to ameliorate the sufferings of the children.” said Brijesh the Secretary of the society. ICFF International Children’s Film Forum will support the cause.

Japanese Film Festival At Marwah Studios

“ It’s not only a film festival but a cultural exchange between two countries, the Japanese films today are representing my country in this campus of Media Professionals ” said Teriyuki Hoshini Director, Japan Foundation in India while inaugurating the two days Japanese Film Festival at Marwah Studios organized by Asian School of Media Studies.

The two days Japanese films Festival will show four films: High and Low- Akira Kurosawa, End of Summer – Yasujiri Ozu, Godzilla- Inshiro Honda and Kill directed by Kinchi Onomoto. The films represent the culture, tradition and heritage of Japanese cinema presenting the best in domain of film culture. The screening is also accompanied by workshops by Cinedarbaar to bring a greater degree of understanding and knowhow of Japanese cinema.

Addressing to the large gathering of film, television and media students Sandeep Marwah, President of Marwah Studios and Chairperson of International Film and Television Club, thanked the director of the Japan Foundation for the contribution towards this remarkable culture exchanged and presented him with the life membership of International Film & Television Club of AAFT.

Others who spoke on the occasion were Gurbir Garewal, R.K.Singh and Harshvardhan. The festival is dully supported by Radio Noida 107.4 FM, International Film & Television Research Center, International Children’s Film Forum and International Public Broadcasting Forum.

Festival of National Award Winning Films 2008 Begins

“It is very important to bring National Award Winning Films to the public for screening for the better and bigger exposure. This creative content handed over to us by the film makers of this country must be appreciated in large” said S.M.Khan Addl Director General and Director, Directorate of Film Festival of India, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India as the opening remark of 18 days long screening of National Award 2008 Winning films at Sri Fort Auditorium. “It was my honour to be on the National Jury of Non Feature Film Category. The fact is that all the big film makers of the World start their film carrier and journey with short films or Documentaries These films make you realize your caliber, capabilities and capacities” said Sandeep Marwah the president of Marwah Studios and the producer of largest number of short films in the World while inaugurating the festival in a jam packed hall. The screening started with the short film ‘Three Of Us’ which begged Best Cinematography Award to Shariqua Badar Khan who was also facilitated there followed by the screening of Feature Film ‘Antaheen’ recipient of Best Feature Film National Award 2008. National Workshop on sustainable Development By Santhigiri Ashram

Santhigiri Research Foundation, Delhi Division in association with Nehru Memorial Museum and Library and American Centre, New Delhi, is organizing a two day National Workshop on “Sustainable Development: Building Alternatives”, on 21 & 22 April 2010 in Delhi. UCLAN Team At Asian School Of Media Studies.

“It was just few months back we offered our training setup and practical syllabus to the University of Central Lancashire for the students of Journalism, Film and TV, I am happy that they are here in India on our Invitation” said Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios and renowned media personality of this part of the World. “Not only they are learning but they are enjoying their training program” Chris Leonard added.

University of Central Lancashire is one of the most prestigious education centre of United Kingdom and on other hand Asian School of Media Studies an extension of Asian Academy of Film and Television is in media education for 18 years. Jag Mundhra’s Team of Apartment at Marwah Studios

“My style of film making is different, I believe in telling story” said Jag Mundhra the writer and Director of feature film ‘Apartment’ while introducing his cast to the national press at Marwah Studios in Noida Film City. Jag mundhra who has been the writer, producer, director and editor of many films like Bhawander, Mansoon, Back Waters, Shoot on Sight, Chase etc. this time coming with the thriller.
The part of two national award winning films ‘Traffic Sighnal’ and ‘Oye Lucky Oye’ and the leading lady of 13 feature films Neetu Chandra confirmed that nothing is controversial in the film. She said, “I am an actor and has to perform as per the direction of my director, I have given my best”. “From a simple small town girl to a smart city girl, .I got the opportunity to show my talent” Neetu added.
The President of Marwah Studios, Sandeep Marwah organized a special interactive program of the star cast with the students of Asian Academy Of Film And Television, ABS and ASMS. “It is very important for the film and TV students to learn from their seniors of the industry.” said Marwah, while presenting life membership of International Film and Television Club to Jag Mundhra.
Others who were present there were former Miss Afghanistan Vida Samadzai, Super model from Chile Jennifer Mayani who have also played in the film Aparment along with Anupam Kher, Rohit Roy, Tanushree Dutta.
