Impressive Opening of 3rd International Festival of Cell Phone Cinema

The huge crowd of young film makers from all over India and abroad lined up to enter into the festival theatre at Marwah Studios to look into this third International festival of Mobile Phone Cinema where more than 500 entries have been received from all over the World. “I am excited that the festival has become popular worldwide in just three years, no doubt that our team from AAFT,ASMS,ABS and ASGA has done a great job in making this event so attractive.” said Sandeep Marwah president of Marwah Studios.

The festival organized by International Film and Television Club inaugurated by the renowned writer, producer, editor and director N.Chandra who has given some of the finest films like Ankhush, Tezab, Pratighat, Narasimha, Humlaa, Beqabu, Yeh Mera India etc and presided over by American film director Karl Bardosh.

“I am amazed by the ideas these mobile films have thrown to all of us to elaborate into full length feature films.” said N. Chandra, also the jury member of the festival while addressing the audience, national press and media personalities present there.. “I am associated with the festival from the beginning and happy to see it growing year by year. Mobile Cinema is going to takeover all alternatives of watching films” said Karl Bardosh who is also the prof in Tisch School of Arts, New York University.

3rd International Festival of Cell phone Cinema Poster Launched 2010
 

The popularity of Cell Phone Cinema festival is increasing day by day. “We are excited that the third festival of Cell Phone Cinema is fixed for the 3rd week of January and many renowned film makers have agreed to be there with us in Noida Film City” said Sandeep Marwah president of Marwah Studios while releasing the first poster of the festival.

The young crowd of film makers lined up to collect the entry forms from the festival office. “The concept is so different that it has to attract the upcoming film makers of the world” said Prof Karl Bardosh of New York University. The last date to receive entries is 15th January and films which are to be received in any three categories can be uploaded at www.batchbuzz.com. The categories are Fiction/Music Video, News Gathering and a Still Photo.

3rd International Festival of Cell phone Cinema 2010 Announced
 
International film and television club along with Asian Academy of Film and Television AAFT have decided to go ahead with the third International festival of mobile cinema at Marwah Studios in the third week of January 2010 informed Sandeep Marwah, the festival president.
“We are ready for the show again, idea is to promote young talent who are keen in expressing them selves through this cheapest mode of cinema that is mobile.” said Marwah announcing 3rd festival. There will be three categories of fiction and music video, reality or electronic media and still image. The total prize money will be around 2000 US dollars.
There are few rules of the competition, all entries to be created using a mobile phone. The entries should be original and not infringe on any copy right law. All work to be either uploaded on batchbuzz.com or the body of work can be sent on CD at the festival office—Marwah Studio, FC 14/15, Film City, Sector 16A, Noida 201301,U.P., India. The decision of the festival president will be final and binding to all the participants of cell phone cinema festival.
The film entries received from various countries will be judged by an international jury in New Delhi and the result for the 3 winner of the Cell Phone Cinema festival will be announced later .The list of the film entries, qualified for the finals, will be disclosed through the Internet.
 
Direction Workshop By Pankaj Parashar At Global Festival Of Films
 

The visitors, students, media persons all were very lucky to be the part of Direction Workshop conducted by the renowned Director Pankaj Parashar on the second day of 2nd Global Festival of Documentary Films 2009 at Noida Film City.

Talking about his success and failure of films and projecting his films on screen the veteran Director discuss the ups and downs of the director in the Industry. Pankaj Parashar who has directed some of the finest films like Jalwa, Chalbazz, Himalayaputra, Meri Biwi Ka Jawab Nahin, Banaras and popular TV serial Karamchand along with 400 advertisement films for best of the companies.

“You have to get involved with the project, treat it as your child and then only you can give best to the film” said Pankaj Parashar “Workshops like this during the film festivals create the awareness among the masses about the hard work and fire one has to go through while making the films” said Sandeep Marwah, the president of festival. The session finished with the question answer session and the interview by Radio Noida 107.4FM.

Manoj Pahwa gave acting tips to the students of Asian Academy Of Film And Television and Asian School Of Media Studies on his visit to the 2nd Global Festival of Documentary Films 2009 at Noida Film City.

A special workshop has been planned at Marwah Studios where students had the full privilege to interact and ask questions related to carrier in acting and how to manage the affairs in the Film and TV industry.

This three days festival showcased some of the most outstanding, critically acclaimed and awarded films across the World..

More than 90 films have been received from 27 countries in the competition. Basu Chatterjee With Media Students At Global Festival Of Films 2009
 

“I have always convinced my self with the story, if I am satisfied then only I jump for direction” said the renowned film maker Basu Chatterjee, who has directed more than 50 feature films like Rajangandha, Chitchor, Choti Si Baat, Pasand Apni Apni and TV serials like Rajani, Kakaji and many others while talking to the students of AAFT, ASMS and ABS on the occasion of seminar organized on the first day of 2nd Global Festival Of Documentary Films at Noida Film City.

Commenting on latest trends of bollywood he clearly said to media that there is no formula of successful films. It is the conviction of film makers and his passion which drives him to go for the next venture even if the last film has not done well. “I am too pleased to be here at AAFT for Global Festival Of Documentary Films and will continue to see films at IFFI next week.” Basu added.

I have decided to prepare a library of all the films of Basu Chatterjee which I believe will bring a new thinking in the minds of young film makers, said Sandeep Marwah.

In a jam packed auditorium the president of Marwah Studios and GFF Sandeep Marwah honoured Basu Chatterjee with the life membership of International Film and Television Club.

 
Radio Noida Launched With Great Pomp and Show
 
It was the third and the final day of 2nd Global Festival of Documentary Films 2009 at Marwah Studios where ample films had already been displayed for the documentary film makers, media, film and TV students, a huge international gathering was anxiously waiting for the .formal closing when a range of stars were brought to the stage to launch Radio Noida 107.4FM“It may be the closing ceremony of Global festival of films 2009 but it’s the beginning of Non stop Radio Programs at our radio station RADIO NOIDA 107.4FM” said Sandeep Marwah, the President of Marwah Group of Creative Enterprises.

“I am happy that I am once again part of this new venture at Marwah Studios” said Sanjay Kapoor. I congratulate the whole team of Global Festival for their honest and hard work towards the promotion of our entertainment industry” he added “I have never seen this kind of International huge event at any film school, I admire the energy being generated at this campus” said Rahul Roy. “I feel this is the Golden Palace of Entertainment where every aspect of media is exchanged with the film, TV and Media students .This festival is the judicial mix of professionals and new comers of this trade” narrated Rrajat Barjatya of Rajshri.com.” I am coming back very soon, I have loved this place” said Prinyanka the charming and attractive leading girl of many movies.” I feel I have gathered more than what I could give to this festival” said Karl Bardosh the renowned film director and professor of Tisch School of Arts, New York university.

More than 600 participants present there converted the gala dinner into a musical show that evening. The Radio Noida was inaugurated with the live coverage of the whole event .Later Mohit Marwah, Akshay Marwah and Raghav Marwah creative directors of Marwah Studios and Suman Bajaj Kalra the festival Director paid vote of thanks to all the departments of Asian Academy of film and TV, Asian School of Media Studies, Asian Business School, AAFT School of Graphic and Animation, IFTC, IFTRC involved with the festival.

 

IFTRC Promoted Documentation Centre At 2nd Global Festival Of Films 2009
 
Some of the finest documentary films were screened during the day followed by the release of set of seven technical books on film making prepared by the documentation department of International Film And Television Research Centre of Marwah Studios on the first day of 2nd Global festival of Documentary films 2009 at inaugural dinner at Noida Film City.Basu Chatterjee, Pankaj Parashar, Manoj Pahwa together released the set of books at the glamorous evening supported by the presence of media, film and tv personalities.” I am pleased that the organizers have not forgotten the importance of film and tv education even during this glamorous and happening evening, I endorse the idea of Global Festival of Films” said Basu Chatterjee .”Releasing book is no less than a step towards spirituality, I am elevated by this gesture” said Pankaj Parashar. “I must carry these books and study them I will gain knowledge” said Manoj Pahwa.
The president of the festival Sandeep Marwah spoke about the International Film and TV Research Centre and the festival director Suman Bajaj Kalra paid vote of thanks.
 
Great Gala Opening oF 2nd Global Festival Of Documentary Films
 

The Red Carpet became the centre of attraction on the opening of 2nd Global Festival of Documentary films at Film City Noida organized by International Film And Television Club under the president ship of Sandeep Marwah of Marwah Studios a renowned Media, Film and TV personality of this part of the World.

“I have always believe in promoting young and talented film makers by creating an opportunity for them in this beautiful trade” said Sandeep Marwah to the international press gathered along with film makers, participants, who”s who of entertainment industry, film and TV students from all over the World.

A formal inauguration took place by lighting the lamp by the renowned, veteran writer, producer and Director Basu Chatterjee along with film director Pankaj Parashar, Manoj Pahwa the famous actor ,Tarry Parrish of Ice Academy, U.K, film maker Shekh Nasir with Suman Bajaj Kalra festival Director and President of the festival Sandeep Marwah.

The festival started with the scheduled program of screening films in three theatres for the first hour followed by huge list of films to follow. “Not much festivals in India promoting documentaries, this festival is the real breathing to the documentary film makers and that too at this scale” said Basu Chatterjee. “I believe in the management of IFTC. This time Global has touched the documentaries, other wise there are no supporters other than government.” said Pankaj Parashar. “I have come all the way from UK to support Sandeep for his venture we need promoters and people with innovative ideas” said Terry Parrish.

IFTC Launches International Children's Film Forum

International Children’s Film Forum (ICFF) is the first ever Forum of its kind in the private sector of India. ICFF has been established to support the govt. funded Children’s Film Society of India’s noble task of producing, distributing and exhibiting film for children. This Forum believes that moving picture could play significant role in shaping the mind, body and character of younger children and that films for children should:

  • Be informational, educational as well as entertaining.
  • Foster and promote commonly acceptable moral, social and ideal characteristics of the life of the community of which the children are being served.
  • Supplement the primary responsibility of the parents to guide their children in the kind of life they lead, the character they build, the kind of reading, music and dance, games and sports, hobbies, film and television programmes to which they are exposed, etc.

International Children’s Film Forum would try and

  • Create awareness of the need for film specially made for the younger children.
  • Lend all possible support to the makers of films for children, in their work.
  • Organize debates, seminars, symposia workshops on films for children.
  • Organize festival of films for children.
  • Conduct short term and long term training programmes on making of films for children.
  • Promote research on films for children.

Cricket Celebrity Brett Lee At Marwah Studios
 
The Australian Production Company headed by TV producer Gary Deans along with assistant Melania decided to produce and direct a music video on World renowned Cricket player Brett Lee from Australia during his visit to New Delhi.
Bret Lee is One of the fastest bowlers in the world, Brett Lee holds the capacity to bowl a delivery at 160 kph. The right-arm quickie made his Test debut against India at Melbourne. He intimidated the Indian batters with his fiery pace bowling and ended up with a 5-wicket haul in the first innings.
A song which was jointly recorded in Australia in the voice of Brett Lee himself and Mick, both playing guitars too, spend their day with Sandeep Marwah, president of Marwah Studios, who had designed the whole production for this music video in Delhi in no time.
The indoor shooting with Bret Lee and Mick was recorded at Marwah Studios, Noida Film City and out door was recorded at different places at Maurya Hotel, Qutub Minar, Chandani Chowk, and other crowded places of Delhi. The outdoor was also planned by Sandeep Marwah and his production team.
Brett Lee had a brush with Indian music when he sung a duet with legendary singer Asha Bhonsle in Hindi .Lee has displayed his acting skills in a Bollywood cricketing flick “Victory” where the pacer is playing himself.
Film Festivals Spread Cine Literacy – ESMAYEEL SHROFF
 
The renowned film writer and director Esmayeel Shroff said that film festivals do provide an opportunity to learn the practical process of filmmaking. He was formally inaugurating the 64th Festival of short digital films at Asian Academy of Film & Television. Shooting Of “NAAZUK SAA MODD” - Love Triangle Suspense Thriller Begins
 
A thirty day schedule of Adeep Tandon venture ‘Naazuk Saa Modd’ has begun today at Marwah Studios. A love triangle suspense thriller is to be directed by Addeep Tandon who is a well known cinematographer for number of prestigious projects like Saaransh, Thikana Censor, Grihpravesh etc. The film is being produced by Swapan Dey and Co-produced by Vikas Garg in association with Marwah Studios, Noida. Raghav Marwah is the executive producer of this feature film.The film is written by Esmayeel Shroff a well known Director who has scripted this film for the first time for an outside director. Some of his well known film are Bulandi, Agar, Thodi Se Bewafai, Tarkieb, Majdhar, God and Gun, Ahista Ahista, Jhutha Such, Dil Akhir Dil Hai and Police Public etc. The film will be shot in Delhi and Noida from start to finish.

The music for the film has been given by Lalit Sen of (Dhoop, Monsoon, Heera Pheri fame), Lyrics by Nida Fazli of (Sarfrosh, Razia Sultan, Sur fame), Editor is Rajeev Gupta, Audiographer is S.K. Srivastava, Art Direction by the National Award Winner Shyam Bhutkar, Choregraphy by Bhushan Lakhandari of (Devdas, Sawariya, Hum Apke Hain Koun fame), Singers are Mohd. Salamat, Javed Ali, Vinod Rathod and Vaishali, for Media Coordination Sunil Prashar is associated with this venture.

Painting Exhibition By Neema Lal At Marwah Studios
 

An exhibition of colorful paintings by Neema lal was jointly inaugurated by Jaganath, the former Secretary of Home Affairs, Government of Uttar Pradesh and Vikas Garg renowned business man and the film producer at Marwah Studios, Film City, Noida.

“Paintings are like poetry which you have to write with colors and it expresses all your emotions on canvas,” said Jaganath while releasing the brochure. Neema Lal has worked with Artists from Denmark for a period of five years before joining Treveni Kala Sangam. "I extend my heartiest congratulation to Neema for opting Marwah Studios for her solo show within Media students, she is very expressive in her work” said Vikas Garg.

“My journey from cotemporary to abstract helped me to make layers in paintings which help to have perspective effects, but this is not sufficient I would like to increase the number of layers to give more 3D effects.” Said Neema Lal while explaining her paintings to the students of Asian Academy of Film and Television (AAFT) “I want to incorporate in my paintings new trends and recent techniques of other countries along which my own technique to give a much broader and wider look to my creations. The world should know that new chapter has been added in the field of art.” added Neema Lal.

Taiwan join hands with Marwah Studios For Film Festival
 
The Taipei Economic & Cultural Center in New Delhi has decided to have a cultural week of Taiwan at Noida Film City along with a festival of films in the first week of November. “We are ready with the cinema from Taiwan and also planning to have art exhibition at AAFT campus and a cultural show in this November” said Joy yen, the Director of Information Division , Taipei Economic & Cultural Center In New Delhi. “In contrast to the melodrama or kung-fu action films of the earlier decades, New Wave Taiwan films are known for their realistic, down-to-earth, and sympathetic portrayals of Taiwanese life. These films sought to portray genuine stories of people living either in urban or rural Taiwan, and are often compared stylistically to the films of the Italian neorealism movement.” Said Sandeep Marwah, president of Marwah Studios.. The Screening of the films will indeed to be a great learning experience for the students of cinema in our country” he added.

The renowned Cinematographer of well known films like Aawargi, Jurm, Gunah, Kasam Vardi Ki, Ek Bar Phir, Disco Dancer etc and Director of feature film Trichi Topi Wale Nadeem Khan who has been in Indian Film Industry for more than 30 years is here with the film students of Asian School Of Media Studies [Department Of Cinema] on the invitation of Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios, Noida Film City. “Sharing experience with students of Cinema is like spiritual activity for me” said Nadeem Khan while conducting five full day workshop at ASMS and AAFT.” I feel dividing your knowledge with young generation makes you feel more responsible towards the industry” added Nadeem. .Ashok Tyagi Dean [Cinema] has designed the workshop on Camera and lighting techniques for Cinema students and where H.O.D. Rahul Sehgal is coordinating the same. “I am glad Nadeem Khan has upgraded the course with his presence, students have been benefited to a great extent” said Sandeep Marwah. “We are happy that Nadeem has agreed to be on the council of Cinema studies” added Marwah. Feroz Abbas Khan Visited Marwah Studios
 
 
Director of feature film Gandhi My Father Feroz Abbas Khan was at AAFT Asian Academy Of Film And Television to pay his gratitude to the institution for the untiring help extended by the students of the institution during the making of the film which has bagged 3 National Awards in recent announcement by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India. “I am so thankful to Sandeep Marwah, the director of the institution for referring me the students of AAFT for my film when I was at Marwah Studios at the time of making of my first film venture” said Feroz Abbas Khan. Feroz Abbas Khan was talking to the students of 64th batch at Noida Film City, he referred the name of many students specially Gurmeet Singh who has been with him as First AD, Ridhima Pandey as Costume in charge and Pratikh Sapra as AD in feature film Gandhi My Father.
“ I am impressed by the quality of education, the institute is imparting at AAFT as I need no more proof than the honest, hardworking and intelligent students who have worked with me.” added Feroz.

SHAKESPEARE SOCIETY ESTABLISHED AT AAFT
 
 
A visit to Stratford – upon Avon in the United Kingdom – the birthplace of the greatest English dramatist and poet of all times William Shakespeare – in August 2009 was indeed a pilgrimage for the stage artiste Sandeep Marwah. After paying his homage at the Shakespeare memorial and meeting with the members of the local Shakespeare Society, Sandeep Marwah has decided to include the works of this creative genius in the curriculum of the acting courses of Asian Academy of Film & Television and Asian School of Media Studies. A section in the Books Library of the media school would be dedicated to the text Shakespearean plays. Filmed and video recordings version of Shakespearean plays would also be prepared course of time by the faculty and students of AAFT.

After being part of the creative team in superhit films like Satya, Jhankar Beats and Masti, cinematographer Mazhar Kamran is now ready to release his directorial debut titled’ Mohan Das’ informed Sandeep Marwah, President of Marwah Studios while welcoming the team of feature film Mohandas at AAFT and ASMS at Noida Film City.
Talking to the students of Asian Academy Of Film And Television and Asian School Of Media Studies the Director of the film Mazhar Kamran declared that “unlike its resemblance to the name Mohan Das Karam Chand Gandhi, the film is a black comedy and derives zero similarity from the patriot. The film is made on a small scale with talented actors like Sonali Kulkarni, Nakul Vaid, Sushant Singh, Sharbani Mukherjee, Sameer Dharmadhikari, Uttam Haldar, Aditya Shrivastav, Akhilendra Mishra and Govind Namdeo who all were present there to interact with the media students.
Sandeep Marwah also informed that the film is made under the banner of Vertika Films Pvt Ltd. and is produced by Abha Sonakia. Sonali Kulkarni disclosed and said “The plot of Mohan Das revolves around a man who is lost in his own country” Sharbani Mukerjee added,”. A full day workshop on the ethics of journalism and how to be a good journalist took place at Marwah Studios organized by the International Film And Television Research Centre in association with Asian School Of Media Studies and Asian Academy Of Film And TV for the working journalist of different News papers and TV channels. Be honest to your profession, journalism needs lots of passion, running a news paper is like a prayer” said Dr Bhisham Narayan Singh, former Union Minister, Government Of India and Former Governer of 7 states of India while inaugurating National Workshop on Journalism. “Honesty pay in life, it is always tough way to success” he added. It is important to pursue with the stories till it reaches to its end” said veteran journalist Santosh Bhartiya who has made his position from a reporter to member of Rajya Sabha. “Never afraid from the strong influences, believe in investigation,” Santosh added.
