Noida, India – The 9th Global Fashion & Design Week. 9th Global Fashion & Design Week 2025 Sets Unmatched. orchestrated by the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI) in association with AAFT School of Fashion & Design. Truly lived up to its title as the biggest fashion week ever held by any educational institution in the world.

Held at the iconic Marwah Studios, Film City Noida, the event was an extraordinary celebration of global hence creativity, culture, and couture. Dr. Sandeep Marwah, Festival President and Chancellor of AAFT University. Congratulated the entire organizing team for delivering an international-standard fashion spectacle in India’s creative capital. “Design is the soul of civilization. Through this global platform, we celebrate diversity, innovation, and cultural pride,” said Dr. Marwah in his inaugural remarks.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by H.E. Benedikt Hoskuldsson, such as Ambassador of Iceland to India, who lit the ceremonial lamp and officially declared the event open. “This festival represents the best of international collaboration in design and education,” said the Ambassador.

Noida, India – The much-anticipated 9th Global Fashion & Design Week 2025, organized by the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI) in collaboration with AAFT School of Fashion and Design, AAFT School of Interior Design, and AAFT School of Hospitality and Tourism, was inaugurated today with unmatched vibrancy and international flair at Marwah Studios, Film City Noida.

This year’s edition stands as the largest fashion and design celebration ever hosted by an educational institution globally, with a record-breaking participation from 90 countries. Nearly 50 countries walked the ramp, showcasing diverse and culturally rich garments, while 125 uniquely curated furniture design pieces from 80 nations adorned two expansive halls, stunning the visitors with global creativity.

The week-long celebration is also showcasing an impressive range of exhibitions, including fashion installations, interior design innovations, photography displays, coffee table books, culinary presentations, art exhibits, and a grand food festival, celebrating global aesthetics and gastronomy.

Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of the Festival and Chancellor of AAFT University, in his keynote address, said: “Design is not just visual—it is a reflection of culture, thought, and innovation. This platform is a powerful representation of global unity through design and creativity.”

The ceremonial lamp was lit by H.E. Benedikt Hoskuldsson, Ambassador of Iceland to India, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. He remarked: “This festival is a magnificent example of how fashion and design can unite nations and celebrate identity and innovation on a single platform.”

Alfredo Caldera, Cultural Counsellor, Embassy of Venezuela, emphasized on the evolving fashion narrative in Latin America. Dr. Faridoddin Faridasr, Cultural Counsellor, Embassy of Iran, highlighted Iran’s contribution to traditional textiles and contemporary aesthetics. Yanytzel Karina Duarte, Second Secretary, Embassy of Panama, shared Panama’s artistic legacy and modern fashion integration.

Prominent industry leaders and experts also graced the occasion: Gaurav Arora, Co-founder & Head, Market Craft, Chef Vikram Shokeen, Chef Dr. Kunal Seth, and Chef Srinath Sampath enthralled food lovers with culinary artistry. Renowned architects Divya Bhatt and Purvi Singhal discussed sustainable design innovations. Annika Passii, Country Manager at The Warehouse Group, offered global retail perspectives. Noida, 9th May 2025: The International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI) and Asian Law College, in partnership with Cyber Humane, successfully hosted a high-impact Landmark Conclave on Digital Dignity at the Asian Law College campus. The event brought together top legal minds, cybersecurity experts, diplomats, and educators to address the most pressing concerns of our digital age under the compelling theme:
“Securing the Digital Frontier – Addressing Cyber Threats, Misinformation, and Privacy in the Age of AI, Deepfakes, and Global Surveillance.”

The conclave featured intensive sessions, each focusing on emerging challenges surrounding cybersecurity, ethical digital conduct, misinformation, surveillance technologies, and data privacy. With the rapid evolution of artificial intelligence and digital tools, the discussions underscored the urgent need for robust policy frameworks, global cooperation, and public awareness to preserve digital dignity.

The inaugural session was graced by distinguished dignitaries including: Dr. Sandeep Marwah, Chancellor of AAFT University and President of Asian Law College, IPS Deepak Kumar Kedia, who shared critical insights on digital crime and policing, Hon. Noida, 9th May 2025: Marwah Studios had the pleasure of welcoming Ms. Sweety Upadhyaya, PCS, Assistant Commissioner in the Industries Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh, currently posted in Gautam Buddha Nagar (Noida and Greater Noida). In recognition of her distinguished service and commitment to empowering women in administration, she was honoured with the prestigious Life Membership of the International Women’s Film Forum.

During her visit, Ms. Upadhyaya engaged in a meaningful discussion with Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of Marwah Studios, on ways to collaboratively promote industrial growth and development in Noida and Greater Noida. Dr. Marwah extended the support of Radio Noida 107.4FM and MSTV OTT Channel to the Government of Uttar Pradesh for efficiently disseminating key government initiatives, programs, and industrial policies to a wider audience.

Noida, 8th May 2025: In observance of World Red Cross Day, AAFT Leo Club in collaboration with AAFT School of Health & Wellness organized a significant blood donation camp at Marwah Studios, Film City Noida. The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of over 100 students and team members of Marwah Studios, who generously donated blood to the Lions Blood Bank.

The newly formed AAFT Leo Club— the youth wing of the Lions Club International—was officially activated through this noble initiative, marking its commitment to humanitarian service from the very beginning. Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of Marwah Studios and Patron of the Red Cross Organization, expressed his sentiments on the occasion, stating, “We have been associated with the Red Cross for a long time, even producing 17 short films for the organization in the past. I am honored to be nominated as a Patron. Blood donation is not just a regular exercise at Marwah Studios; it is a deeply spiritual act of service—especially vital in challenging times like those we are facing in the region today.”

The event was graced by Ms. Sweety Upadhayaya, Assistant Commissioner, Industries Noida & Greater Noida, Government of Uttar Pradesh, who unveiled a special poster to commemorate the occasion. Noida: In a vibrant display of cultural diplomacy and artistic collaboration, Mrs. Fatima Kane Haidara, noted writer from Senegal, along with H.E. Abdoul Wahab Haidara, High Commissioner of Senegal to India, visited Marwah Studios, Film City Noida, to promote the ongoing activities of the Indo Senegal Film and Cultural Forum, a flagship initiative of the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI).

During the visit, a beautiful painting from Senegal was presented to Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of Marwah Studios and Chair of the Forum, symbolizing the spirit of cultural exchange and goodwill between the two nations. In a detailed interaction, Dr. Marwah apprised the High Commissioner of Senegal’s consistent participation in ICMEI’s globally recognized initiatives, including the Global Fashion Week, Global Film Festival, Global Literary Festival, Global Festival of Journalism, and the International Festival of Documentary Films. Dr. Marwah further proposed organizing a stand-alone Senegal Film Festival, a Senegal Food Festival, and a roadshow on Senegalese tourism to further strengthen bilateral ties.

Highlighting the potential of creative collaboration, Mrs. Fatima Kane Haidara proposed the idea of developing a joint Indo-Senegalese film venture, marking a new chapter in cinematic partnership between the two countries. To honor the diplomatic and cultural cooperation, Dr. Sandeep Marwah presented Life Membership of the International Film and Television Club of Marwah Studios to H.E. Dr. Sandeep Marwah, Founder-President of Marwah Studios and Chancellor of AAFT University of Media and Arts, expressed pride in the festival’s enduring impact. “We are proud to have broken our own record with the 123rd edition of this unique festival, where more than 3,500 directors and 15,000 technicians from over 100 countries have been given the golden opportunity to present their debut films. This platform has become a global landmark in short digital filmmaking,” said Dr. Marwah during the inaugural ceremony.

The event was graced by H.E. Fernando Bucheli, Ambassador of Ecuador to India, as the Chief Guest, who applauded AAFT’s role in fostering international cultural exchange through cinema. “Platforms like these not only showcase emerging talent but also strengthen the bonds between nations through the power of storytelling,” he stated.

Renowned documentary filmmaker, photographer, and writer Shivani Pandey commended the festival’s role in encouraging new voices in visual storytelling, emphasizing the importance of grassroots platforms in nurturing authentic content. Mahalaxmi Mishra, Coordinator of the Indo Cambodia Film and Cultural Forum of ICMEI, highlighted the cultural diplomacy initiatives tied to the festival, stressing how it continues to bridge global communities through film.

Adding an international legal perspective, Dr. Srinivas Rao Kaveti from the USA, a distinguished lawyer and guest of honor, spoke about the significance of intellectual property protection in the digital age and its relevance to emerging filmmakers. The 123rd AAFT Festival once again reaffirmed its place as a dynamic platform for innovation, collaboration, and cinematic excellence—an inspiring space where creativity meets global opportunity.

Noida: In a dynamic and inspiring session held at the Asian Academy of Film and Television (AAFT), Dr. Sandeep Marwah, Chancellor of AAFT University of Media and Arts, engaged directly with students to share insights on the institution’s remarkable progress, new technological advancements, and its vision for the future of creative education.

“I am here to open new chapters at AAFT—where tradition meets transformation,” said Dr. Marwah. “We have already integrated technologies like Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, Metaphorical Learning, and Learning Management Systems (LMS) into our curriculum to keep pace with global standards in creative learning.” Highlighting the infrastructure upgrades, Dr. Marwah informed students about the addition of the latest equipment, including advanced cameras, editing suites, and post-production tools, now incorporated into hands-on learning modules across disciplines.

Dr. Marwah proudly stated, “AAFT holds the distinction of being number one in the world in terms of student-led film productions throughout the year. Last year alone, we were associated with 700 events and produced over 150 creative projects. Moreover, AAFT is recognized as the most cost-effective film school in the world.”

Noida: In a tribute to one of the greatest cinematic minds of the 20th century, the AAFT School of Cinema, in collaboration with the New Delhi Film Foundation (NDFF), organized a compelling memorial talk on “Realism in Cinema – Legacy of Satyajit Ray” at Marwah Studios, Film City Noida.

The keynote speaker for the session was acclaimed filmmaker, author, and film scholar O.P. Srivastava, who captivated the audience with a deep and insightful address on the evolution of realism in Indian cinema and the lasting global impact of Satyajit Ray’s narrative and visual storytelling. He emphasized Ray’s unique ability to combine poetic humanism with cinematic precision, highlighting how his films continue to influence generations of filmmakers across the world.

Ashish K. Singh, Founder and General Secretary of NDFF, welcomed the gathering and said, “This talk is part of our ongoing effort to preserve and promote the legacy of masters like Satyajit Ray, whose work is not only a cultural treasure but also a cinematic guidepost for realism in storytelling.”

Mumbai: In a moment of high recognition at the prestigious WAVES – World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit held in Mumbai, Dr. L. Murugan, Hon’ble Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, applauded Dr. Sandeep Marwah for his outstanding and transformative contributions to the Indian media and entertainment industry.

Praising Dr. Marwah’s monumental 40-year journey, Dr. Murugan stated, “Dr. Sandeep Marwah has given invaluable service to the nation through his visionary leadership and relentless commitment to the growth of the media and entertainment sector. Dr. Marwah, a pioneer and cultural diplomat, is the founder of Noida Film City and Marwah Studios, where thousands of television programs and feature films have been shot. As Chancellor of AAFT University of Media and Arts, he has trained over 35,000 media professionals from 145 countries, produced 3,600 short films, and provided opportunities to 25,000 filmmakers to create their debut projects.

He is also the founder of 10 major film festivals in India, creator of more than 8,000 cultural events across every genre, and has proudly represented over 80 countries as a cultural ambassador. His tireless efforts have significantly contributed to strengthening India’s soft power through media, art, and international collaboration.
