One of the most successful contemporary film director Madhur Bhandarkar whose latest film Page Three has been adjudged a masterpieces by the discerning viewers, said that he believes in making films in his own style and following the dictates of his conscience. He was addressing the students of Asian School of Media Studies and Asian Academy of Film & TV, in the national capital region. Complementing Sandeep Marwah on establishing the first media university of India, he invited the students of cinema of this institution of higher learning to work with him. Film producer Ashok Pandit accompanying the talented film director, said that everyone including a filmmakers has to be honest and respectful towards his fellow works. Pointing out to the importance of a strong character, he advised the fresh entrants to the film industry not to fall a prey to frivolous and flippant activities in the show world. The noted television anchor Suhaib Illiyasi and the bollywood actor Mukesh Tyagi also expressed their views on the television presentation and films on this occasion.
SUDANESE MUSICIANS IN FILM CITY.
A highly accomplished group of musicians from the Republic of Sudan currently on a visit to India as the guests of Indian Council for Cultural Relations were invited by Prof. Sandeep Marwah to perform for the students of Asian School of Media Studies and Asian Academy of Film & Television. Introducing the musicians the Ambassador of the Republic of Sudan His Excellency Abdalmahmood Abalhaleem Mohammad recalled that Indo-Sudan Cultural Forum had been established at Marwah Studios during the visit of Sudanese minister of state for Siddik Mugatabe in 2002. The ambassador said that Indo-Sudanese relations are more than 5000 years old. The fiftieth anniversary of the current Indo-Sudanese diplomatic relationship is being celebrated this year, he added. Thanking the musicians for their truly memorable performance Prof. Sandeep Marwah said that the Indo-Sudan Cultural Forum is indeed active and he hoped that friendship between Sudan and India could be strengthened through the cultural route. Life membership of the International Film & Television Research Centre was bestowed on singers Sumaiya Hassan and Izzeldeen Ahmed Al- Mustafa beside the leader of the group of visiting musician Maj. Gen. Elkheir El-Musharaf and the ambassador of Sudan.
APANESE FILM DIRECTOR IN NOIDA FILM CITY.
Renowned Japanese animator Yasuhiro Imagawa was recently in Noida Film City to interact with the students of Asian School of Media Studies and Asian Academy of Film & TV. He was invited by Japan Cultural and Information centre to visit prominent cultural centres and academic institution in India. Tracing the sixty year long history of Japanese animation Yasuhiro Imagawa made an interesting presentation on somewhat conflicting requirements of TV advertising and animation products. He screened a number of his films to drive home several aspects of this fine art. Complementing the team headed by Prof. Sandeep Marwah on establishing excellent media schools, Yasuhiro Imagawa suggested that the students should be made to watch and analyze the film of Japanese film director Ozu to understand cinema and how to the medium of films could be used to tell a story or convey a message. He was accompanied by director of Japan Cultural and Information Centre Minoru Kikuchi, minister counsellor Embassy of Japan Motokatsu Watanabe and manager Asia Operation Ruchi Naithani.

President of Asian School of Media Studies and Asian Academy of Film & Television Sandeep Marwah was personally blessed by the well known apostle of peace Reverend Dr. Sun Myung Moon at a congregation of the religious leaders of various faiths recently held at New Delhi. Sandeep Marwah was the only Indian media personality chosen by Universal Peace Foundation of India for appointment as Ambassador for Peace. Speaking on this occasion a number of intellectuals extolled Reverend Dr. Sun Myung Moon’s quest for peaceful coexistence in the strife torn world of today. The noted jurist Dr. L.M. Singhvi is the founding trustee and Chairman of the Universal Peace Foundation of India chapter.

Hollywood film producer Kurt Inderbitzin asserted that the movie making is generally not affected by the economic downturn. He was hinting at the power of films to help the audience escape from worries, tensions and disappointments due to the environment created by recession, for a while. SHORT FILMS ARE POWERFUL MEANS OF SELF EXPRESSION – MUZAFFAR ALI
Producer of memorable feature film Umrao Jaan, Muzaffar Ali said that he has great fascination for the works of film – art. He was inaugurating an international festival of short digital films produced by University of Media Arts in New Delhi. This event was the first public function attended by the renowned and sensitive artist after receiving the coveted Padma Shree award of the year 2005. Stating that the medium of film has a great potential to explore and document human experience, Muzaffar Ali hoped that the filmmakers of next generation will make use of the existing infrastructure at the Film City in the national capital region, to do their work. Complementing Sandeep Marwah for establishing the International Film & Television Club the former director of the Directorate of Film Festival Malti Sahai said that film festivals do go a long way to support production of good films.
