Noida, June 1, 2023 – The Asian Academy of Film and Television (AAFT) marked a momentous occasion today with the inauguration of its 117th batch, further solidifying its reputation as a pioneer in the field of film and television education. Dr. Sandeep Marwah, the esteemed President of AAFT, conveyed his heartfelt congratulations to all individuals associated with the institution.

Addressing the new batch, Dr. Marwah emphasized the importance of ambition and hard work in achieving one’s goals. He urged the students to consider this as a turning point in their lives and encouraged them to cultivate conviction, self-belief, and trust in their abilities, as well as in their parents, family, teachers, and institution. Dr. Marwah emphasized the significance of effective communication skills, including reading, writing, speaking, and, perhaps most importantly, listening. He expressed his conviction that these qualities would propel the students to new heights in their professional careers.

Distinguished speakers at the event included Satish Kumar of the Hindi Department of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Pankaj K Gupta, a renowned fashion analyst, Dr. Leila Mostofi, an accomplished filmmaker from Iran, Vivek Mishra, a celebrated writer, Ritu Lal, Director of AAFT School of Fashion and Design, Dr. Manoj Agarwal, OSD AAFT, and Dr. Ajay Kumar, Executive Director.

As the 117th batch embarks on their journey at AAFT, the institution remains committed to nurturing their talents and providing them with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in the ever-evolving world of film and television.

Noida: On the occasion of Hindi Journalism Day, a seminar on the subject of “Journalism of Immortality and Indianness” was jointly organized by International Journalism Centre of  the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industries, RJS Positive Media, and RJS PBH. The event took place on May 30, 2023, at Marwah Studio, Film city Noida. Eminent thinkers, journalists, and media analysts shared their insights on various aspects of Hindi journalism, including travel, professionalism in media, marketism, cultural pollution, language degradation, morality, and the role of media as the fourth pillar of democracy.

The chief guest at the event was Professor Ram Sharan Joshi, the former Vice Chancellor of Makhanlal Chaturvedi University of Journalism and Mass Communication. Shri Gauri Shankar Raina, the former Director of Doordarshan, presided over the seminar. Distinguished participants included journalists Ravi Parashar, Kumar Rakesh, Vasindra Mishra, Rajeev Gautam, Prasar Bharati consultant Mr. Umesh Chaturvedi, retired program executive from All India Radio Mr. Parthasarathi Thapliyal, Professor Vinita Gupta from Agrasen College’s Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, spokesperson of Brahma Kumari Divine University BK Sushant Bhai, and Associate Professor at Indian Institute of Mass Communication Dr. Pawan Kaundal.

The seminar sparked thought-provoking discussions on the development of Hindi journalism and its role in today’s society. Speakers emphasized the ethical challenges faced by media in the pursuit of TRP ratings and called for a balance between freedom of expression and maintaining social norms and morals. They also highlighted the evolution of Hindi journalism during the freedom movement and post-independence era, noting the transition from traditional electronic media to the digital landscape.

President of Marwah Studios Sandeep Marwah, also the Chancellor of AAFT University, provided inspiration for the event, which was held at Filmcity Noida. RJS Uday Kumar Manna, the program coordinator, extended a warm welcome to all the esteemed guests on Hindi Journalism Day. The event also recognized the contributions of journalists and positive media families associated with the positive India-Uday movement, honoring them for their dedication to Hindi journalism.

Distinguished journalists such as Deepika Sharma, Rakesh Chawla, Uma Naz Singh, Prarthana Sharma, Amrita Chaurasia, Vasindra Mishra, Sonika Singh, Ritu Rana, Varun Shyokand, Rajiv Gautam, Ravi Parashar, and several others were felicitated during the ceremony. Certificates and mementos were presented to all the guests as a token of appreciation. The seminar, expertly moderated by RJS National Convenor Uday Manna and RJS Observer Deepchand Mathur, concluded with expressions of gratitude to all the participants. Sandeep Marwah shared the current status of Hindi journalism, highlighting its steady growth rate of 15 percent.

Noida, May 30, 2023 – Dr. Sandeep Marwah, the Chancellor of AAFT University, has been honored by RJS Positive Media on the occasion of Hindi Patrakarita Day. Dr. Marwah’s extensive involvement in Hindi journalism spans over three decades, during which he has trained numerous students and established the AAFT School of Journalism and Mass Communication.

As the President of the International Journalism Centre, Dr. Marwah played a pivotal role in designating 12th February as the International Day of Journalism. Additionally, he spearheaded the inception of the Global Festival of Journalism in Asia, making it the second-largest journalism festival worldwide.

Notably, Dr. Marwah launched three Hindi radio stations, namely Radio Noida, Radio Mumbai, and Radio Raipur. Furthermore, his OTT TV platform, MSTV, predominantly broadcasts Hindi programs, further promoting the language.

Uday Manna from RJS Positive Media highlighted that Dr. Marwah also founded the prestigious Hindi Cinema Samman Samaroh, an annual event held at Vigyan Bhawan, which recognizes members of the Hindi film industry with  National Award for promoting Hindi. The grand function, which took place at Noida Film City, saw the esteemed presence of numerous journalists and media personalities.

The award was presented to Dr. Marwah by Prof. Ram Sharan Joshi, a veteran journalist, former Vice Chancellor, and social activist, along with other esteemed members of the journalism fraternity.

Noida witnessed a grand celebration as the 115th edition of the AAFT Festival of Short Digital Films was launched with great fanfare. Dr. Sandeep Marwah, the driving force behind the festival, proudly shared its accomplishments.

The festival was recently honored by the World Book of Records London, which recognized it as a world record holder for being the only festival to reach its 115th edition. It is also the only festival that takes place four times a year and has provided a golden opportunity to 3,000 directors and 12,000 film technicians to showcase their debut films.

The esteemed chief guest of the event was Satish Rai, a renowned filmmaker from Australia. He recounted his journey in the film industry, which began at Marwah Studios twenty-two years ago when he visited Sandeep Marwah at Noida Film City. Dr. Sandeep Marwah had the honor of releasing Satish Rai’s fifth book, “Romance with Cinema,” during the festival. A passage from the book was read, highlighting his memorable interaction with Dr. Marwah.

The festival featured an array of exceptional films that captivated the large audience from India and abroad. Some notable films showcased were “Film After Accident” directed by Ajaj Ahmed, “Loop” directed by Suraj BK, “The Celebration” by Deepali, “Kahanibaaz” by Bhagmal, “Talk Show” by Tisha Arora, and the music video “Karmacoma” directed by Deepali.

Several esteemed personalities graced the event with their presence, including Zena Chung, a social worker from South Korea, Vinay Reddy Sarikonda, Vice Chancellor of the European Digital University in the UAE, Surabhi Pandey, a writer and actor, Saarthak Chaudhary, a model and actor, Divya Goel, a para-athlete and lecturer, Aslam Khan, an event designer from Mumbai, and Dr. Ajay Kumar, the Director of AAFT Quality Control.

New Delhi, May 26, 2023 – Sandeep Marwah, the Chancellor of AAFT University and President of Marwah Studios, inaugurated a captivating exhibition of paintings at the India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Estate, New Delhi. The event showcased the remarkable works of renowned artists and celebrated the power of creativity.

In his address, Sandeep Marwah expressed his deep appreciation for the art form, emphasizing that painting is not merely a noun, but a verb, an event that breathes life into each stroke. New Delhi, May 29, 2023 – Sandeep Marwah, a distinguished media personality and the Cultural representative of over 20 African countries in India, was invited as a special guest at the grand Africa Day celebrations held at the Taj Palace in New Delhi on May 25th. The event brought together Ambassadors and High Commissioners from all African nations, along with esteemed guest Ambassadors from various countries, to commemorate the rich history, diverse cultures, and remarkable progress of the African continent.

The chief guest for the occasion was Meenakshi Lekhi, the State Minister for External Affairs and Culture of the Government of India. This effort aims to facilitate cultural exchange and mutual learning between India and Africa.

Marwah also highlighted that all African countries actively participate in India’s Global Film Festivals, Global Fashion Week, Global Literary Festival, and Global Festival of Journalism, further strengthening the cultural bonds between the nations.
