Launching of 11th International Documentary Film Festival Noida 2023

Noida: “Documentaries are an important medium of storytelling that has the power to inform, educate, inspire, and provoke thought among audiences. They provide a unique perspective on various subjects and issues, shedding light on lesser-known or underrepresented topics. Documentaries have the potential to capture the essence of real-life events and convey emotions, making them a powerful tool for social and political change,” said Dr, Sandeep Marwah Chancellor of AAFT University and President of IDFF on the launching of 11th International Documentary Film Festival Noida at Marwah Studios.

“Documentaries can serve as a record of history, capturing significant events and movements that may have gone unnoticed or misrepresented in mainstream media. They can also bring attention to important social and environmental issues, such as climate change, poverty, human rights, and animal welfare. Documentaries can give a voice to marginalized communities, amplify their struggles, and bring awareness to their stories,” expressed Rahul Rawail renowned film maker from Mumbai while lighting the ceremonial lamp.

Moreover, documentaries offer a platform for filmmakers to showcase their artistry and creativity, as well as push the boundaries of traditional storytelling techniques. Through interviews, narration, and visual storytelling, documentaries can provide a deeper understanding of complex issues and provoke reflection and discussion among audiences,: added Chaitanya Padukone film maker and film journalist from Mumbai.

Raza Haider, Documentary Filmmaker, Syed Mahmoud Nawaz, Documentary Filmmaker,  Dr. Lavlin Thadani, Filmmaker & Author, Rajesh Badal, Sr. Journalist, RSTV also contributed in the discussions. A poster of Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi was released during the session to mark respect to this great journalist of India.

Global Excellence Awards for Journalism 2023 During 11th GFJN

The awardees included Aditya Arya, Founder of Museo Camera, Sarfaraz Saifi, Anuraag Muskaan, Dev Shrimali, Padmakant Trivedi, Michelle David, a renowned photographer, Ajay Verma, a media professional, Mr. K Puttaswamy, Dr. Gururaj Nagathan, and Somaiya Maleyur.

6th Mahatma Gandhi National Awards for Journalism at Marwah Studios

Noida: Marwah Studios in Noida, India, was the venue for the 6th Mahatma Gandhi National Awards ceremony. This year’s awardees included Padma Shri Alok Mehta, a renowned journalist, commentator, and writer, Rahul Dev, a senior journalist and former editor of Jansatta and AajTak, Kulwinder Singh Kang, an international cricket and hockey commentator and director of sports at All India Radio, and Ajay Shukla, a columnist, commentator, and senior journalist.

Global Festival of Journalism Concluded with Fashion Show

Noida: GFJN-Global Festival of Journalism Noida 2023, organized by the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI), concluded with a spectacular fashion show. The festival was held under the leadership of Dr. Sandeep Marwah, Festival President, President of ICMEI, and Chancellor of AAFT University of Media and Arts.

The festival was graced by the presence of several distinguished guests, including Thabang Linus Kholumo, Charge d’ Affaires, High Commission of Lesotho, Neeraj A Sharma Hon. Consul General of Palau to India, Yiannakis Makrides Deputy Head of the Mission, High Commission of Cyprus, and renowned writer and poetess Urvashi Agrawal ‘Urvi,’ The event also saw the presentation of the Award of Distinction to the Cyprus film “Olgas Garden.”

The fashion show was a highlight of the festival and showcased the latest trends and designs from some of the most prominent student fashion designers of AAFT. The guests were also presented with a Festival Memento as a token of appreciation for their participation.

In her vote of thanks, Prof. Ritu Lal, Director, AAFT School of Fashion Design, expressed her gratitude to all the guests for their valuable contributions to the festival. She also thanked Dr. Sandeep Marwah for his leadership and vision in making the festival a grand success.

The Global Festival of Journalism Noida 2023 was a celebration of the best in the media and entertainment industry and provided a platform for professionals to showcase their talent and exchange ideas. Former Member Parliament Braj Mohan Visited AAFT

“It is an honor to be here today, addressing such a talented group of individuals. Even though the former member of parliament, I am committed to supporting the arts and creative industries, including the world of cinema said  Braj Mohan Ram, an Indian politician and member of the Bhartiya Janata Party.  Ram was one time MLA and  three times MP- member of the Lok Sabha  from the Palamu Constituency in Jharkhand.

“Cinema is a powerful medium that can entertain, educate, and inspire. It has the ability to bring people together, to share ideas and experiences, and to create a sense of community. As filmmakers, you have the power to make a difference in the world through your art,” suggested Braj Mohan Ram.

“I encourage you to take advantage of the opportunities that are available to you here at AAFT, and to use your skills and creativity to tell meaningful stories that resonate with audiences. It is through your work that you can bring about change, challenge perceptions, and promote positive values,” expressed Dr. Sandeep Marwah founder of Noida Film City and President of Marwah Studios.

Law Minister Baghel Spoke on Women Empowerment at COWE Award Function

New Delhi: Empowering women to become entrepreneurs not only benefits the individual, but also benefits society as a whole. Women entrepreneurs bring diversity, creativity, and a unique perspective to the business world,” said S.P. Baghel Union Minister of State for Law and Justice , Government of India in a grand function at Hotel Crown Plaza organised by COWE Confederation of Women Entrepreneurs UP Chapter.

Women empowerment is critical for creating a level playing field and ensuring that women have equal access to opportunities and resources. Gandhi Sewa Ratana Award 2023 for Sandeep Marwah

New Delhi: Dr. Sandeep Marwah Chancellor AAFT University of Media and Arts and Founder of Noida Film City was bestowed upon Gandhi Sewa Ratna Award 2023 by a well-known social organization World Against Corruption People Council at Constitutional Club, New Delhi. Marwah expressed his gratitude for the recognition and emphasized the importance of Gandhian values in today’s world.

Marwah spoke about the role of media in promoting social justice and equality, and highlighted the need for media professionals to uphold the principles of truth, fairness, and impartiality. He also emphasized the importance of education in promoting peace and social harmony, and encouraged greater collaboration between different sectors of society to tackle issues such as poverty, corruption, and environmental degradation.

Sandeep Marwah Congratulated Minister on Patrick’s Day of Ireland

New Delhi: Dr. Sandeep Marwah Chair for Indo Ireland Film and Cultural Forum congratulated the visiting Minister from Ireland Roderic O’ Gorman Minister for Children Equality Integration and Youth, Government of Ireland, and H.E. Bredan Ward Ambassador of Ireland to India on the celebration of St. Patricks Day and Hundred years of Ireland. The event aimed to celebrate Irish culture and heritage, as well as to strengthen diplomatic ties between Ireland and India.

St Patrick’s Day on 17th March is the biggest day in Ireland ‘s cultural calendar and a national holiday with a host of events throughout Ireland and all over the World in celebration of the nation’s patron saint.

The Minister from Ireland Roderic O’ Gorman highlighted the significance of St. Patrick’s Day as a celebration of Irish identity and culture. He spoke about the history of St. Patrick and the role of the Irish diaspora in promoting Irish culture and values around the world.

The Ambassador of Ireland emphasized the importance of diplomatic relations between Ireland and India. He highlighted the shared values and interests of the two countries, such as a commitment to democracy, human rights, and sustainable development. He also spoke about the potential for increased trade and investment between Ireland and India, and encouraged greater collaboration in areas such as education, research, and innovation.

Chief Guest of the day Meenakshi Lekhi Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture of India attended the event and said that Patrick’s Day is a celebration of Irish culture and a reminder of the importance of diplomacy in promoting, understanding, and cooperation, between nations.

Rwanda Celebrated 13th March as Commonwealth Day

New Delhi: High Commission of Rwanda in New Delhi celebrated Commonwealth Day on March 13th, joining the rest of the Commonwealth nations in observing this annual event. This year’s theme was “Delivering a Common Future: Connecting, Innovating, Transforming”, which highlighted the importance of collaboration and innovation in achieving sustainable development goals.

The celebrations were attended by government officials, diplomats, and members of the public, who participated in plantation of trees at MCD School New Friends Colony. A discussions on the role of the Commonwealth in promoting global cooperation and development was conducted at AAFT informed Dr. Sandeep Marwah Chair for Indo Rwanda Film and Cultural Forum.

In her address, High Commissioner of Rwanda to India H.E. Jacqueline Mukangira emphasized the importance of the Commonwealth in fostering dialogue and understanding among nations, as well as its potential to drive economic growth and development. She also highlighted Rwanda’s commitment to promoting gender equality and empowering youth, two key areas of focus for the Commonwealth.

Overall, the Commonwealth Day celebrations  were a testament to the country’s strong ties with the Commonwealth and its commitment to promoting cooperation and sustainable development in the region and beyond. The event was supported by Indo Rwanda Film and Cultural Forum of International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry.

Sandeep Marwah Inaugurated Photography Exhibition at AIFACS

New Delhi: Sandeep Marwah, the President of Marwah Studios and Chancellor of AAFT University of Media and Arts, inaugurated an exhibition of photography under the tittle Reminiscience  at AIFACS art gallery . The event was attended by several renowned photographers and art enthusiasts.

The exhibition showcased a collection of photographs by talented photographers from different parts of the country. The photographs captured different aspects of life, ranging from nature to culture, and conveyed a powerful message through their lenses.

Speaking at the inauguration, Sandeep Marwah appreciated the efforts of the photographers and their ability to capture the essence of life in their pictures. He also stressed the importance of photography as a medium of expression and the need to encourage budding photographers.

“The art of photography has the power to capture moments and convey emotions that words often fail to express. It is a medium that has the ability to connect people from different parts of the world and tell their stories,” said Sandeep Marwah. He further added, “I am delighted to see such a wonderful collection of photographs here today, and I hope this exhibition inspires more people to take up photography as a hobby or a profession.”

The exhibition was organized by Smita  & Tushar of Luna Arts. It provided a platform for talented photographers to showcase their work and connect with art enthusiasts and industry experts.
