Shobha Ranade is the trustee of Kasurba Gandhi National Memorial Trust, Trustee Balgram Maharashtra, Secretary Gandhi National Memorial Society, Chairperson AICEIW and board member S.O.S. Delhi. She has been serving the nation from different platforms for more than fifty years and stationed at Pune.

Cell phone cinema takes over Marwah Studios

A new chapter was added in the history of Marwah Studios when a flurry of activities sprang up during the 5th International festival of Cell Phone Cinema. The festival was formally launched along with the Hungarian art and sculpture exhibition at the campus. It was followed by a seminar on cinema by Master Professor Karl Bardosh of Tisch school of Arts , New York University at the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industries.

The formal inauguration was done by Presedent Sandeep Marwahl in a jam packed house where filmmakers ,TV presenters and members of the academia shared their perception about the advent of mobile phone as a medium of audio visual creativity. The student of Asian Academy of film and television and Asian school of Media Studies showcased there flight of imagination through a variety of themes in the six awad winning films and still pictures each. Prof Bardosh conducted a workshop at the campus also to finetune the themne of mobile cinema for the benifit of the students.

Speaking on the occasion, the president said’ this year festival has reaffirmed the faith of the filmmakers in the latest version of expression and imagination through a wide range of topics and issues. It was reflected in award winning films like, Citizen Journalist by Chanchal D Roy and Living Pyres by Arvind Kumar Gupta.

According to Dean of AAFT, six documentaries and still pictures each were awarded out of 19 short listed entries from a total of 200+ submissions.
Sundeep Koachar the Limca record maker through his astrological show on Zee TV. He is also an alumnus of the AAFT was a guest of honor at the inauguration and Prof Karl Bardosh had specially flown for the occasion.

The day long activities came to a grand finale through a colorful evening of cultural, extravaganza of dance ,drama, fashion show and music in which none other than president Marwah and Prof Bardosh walked on the ramp and enthralled the audience with his melodies number “Chandan Sa Badan”.

Announcing ‘The Sheela Marwah Scholarship’ to the Girl Students enrolling to the Asian Education Society comprising of AAFT Asian Academy Of Film And Television, ASMS Asian School Of Media Studies, ABS Asian Business School and ASC Asian School Of Communication Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios a creative enterprises promised free education to the girl child at all the nine branches of ‘Apna School’ at Noida slums and villages.
“On this Girl Child Day it is important for all of us to change our primitive thinking for the girl child” said Sandeep Marwah. World Peace Development And Research Foundation Celebrated Netaji Day

“Netaji Subhas Chander Bose believed that the Bhagavad Gita was a great source of inspiration for the struggle against the British.” added Marwah. “Swami Vivekananda’s teachings on universalism, his nationalist thoughts and his emphasis on social service and reform had all inspired Subhas Chandra Bose from his very young days” said President WPDRF.
The students and the faculty of Asian Education Group including AAFT, ASMS, ABS,and ASC shouted his famous quotes &slogans. “Give me blood and I will give you freedom”, “Dilli Chalo”, and “Jai Hind” or “Glory to India!” which all were used by him and later adopted by the Government of India and the Indian Armed Forces.

Another Book Release by Asian Academy of Arts

Renowned Buddhist scholars shared their perception about the legendery Jatak tales associated with the different lives of budha at Marwah Studios. The occasion was the release function of the poetic anthology “ Jatak Kavya Mala” adopted by management guru Prof. Lallan Prasad
.
Speaking on the occasion President Asian Academy of Arts Sandeep Marwah informed the august audience that the anthology is an outcome of the department of writing under the auspices of Asian School of Media Studies created to bring writers, publishers and the academia on the same platform. He announced that 12 such books will be published this year under a similar tripartite collaboration.
Prof. Bikhu Satyapal of Buddhist studies underlined the importance of the Jataka tales in the growth of Indian ethos. Prof Harishankar Prasad praised Prof. Lallan Prasad for his outstanding literary contribution.
Prof. Prasad said it was a fulfillment of his life long cherished dream to bring out this work he expressed his gratitude to Marwah Studios for making it possible.

Sandeep Marwah Honored With Mahatma Gandhi Award

‘Media persons can represent the ideology of Mahatma Gandhi in a much better way, and Sandeep Marwah has proved through his work, he deserves an appreciation for the work he is doing for downtrodden community” said Kumar Saptarishi President of Maharashtra Gandhi Samarak Nidhi, while handing over the National Gandhi Award to Sandeep Marwah at Pune.

73rd AAFT Festival Of Short Digital Films Announced

The International Film And Television Club of Marwah Studios a creative enterprises announced its next event i.e. 73rd edition of AAFT Festival of short digital films to be held at Noida Film City in the month of February 2012.
“All those films which we have produced in the 73rd batch of Asian Academy Of Film And Television, the pioneer film school of India will be part of the competition” said Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios. “The jury will finalize the best ones and all those films will be screened for public” added Marwah.
AAFT Festival Of Short Films is the only festival of its kind which happens four times in a year and has touched the 73rd edition in 18 years of its existence. This is one of the rarest festivals which has showcased more than 1100 films touching film makers hailing from 80 countries of the World.

One Window Service For Films Was Long Due-Sandeep Marwah

The history has been written in the Ministry of Cultural & Tourism and Ministry of Information & Broadcasting Government of India when a pact was signed by both the secretaries of these ministries in the presence of the ministers Subodh Kant Sahai and Ambika Soni to provide one window service to the film makers for film shooting any where in the country for Indian as well as foreign film unit.

Cell cinema sweeps flight of imagination at AAFT

Fifth cell phone cinema festival ignited a flight of imagination both in themes and treatment as reflected in among more than 200 entries of AAFT and ASMS students of Marwah Studios. It was a visual treat that announced the arrival of the new child in the realm of entertainment and creativity.

Inaugurating this prestigious annual event that has become the signature tune of Asian Academy of Film and Television, President Sandeep Marwah said that incarnation has changed all rules and grammar of film making. Now a student can recede an idea and location, scout shots, develop and innovate the final product-all within the reach of his palm. He prophesied that the day is not far when the number of cell phones in India will touch an astronomical figure of 150 million offering a potential of making 150 crores to a film maker.

Distinguished guest of Marwah Studios and the celebrated master professor of the Tich School of the Arts, New York University said that cell has become a pen. All the film students are now carrying a camera in their pocket and shoot at will. Even a whole TV series can be uploaded on a mobile. The South Korean Golden Bear winner in the last Berlin Film Festival’s 32 minute film became a run away success at the box office courtesy mobile.

The special guest on the occasion Sandeep Kochar a former student of AAFTand known for his Limca record winning 1800-episode serial on astrology and astronomy said the time has come when you either change with time or perish. He said he dealt with science and not blind faith in stars. He advised students not to be contended but dream and achieve big in life.
