Formally launching the bouquet of 31 short digital films being produced by Sandeep Marwah, the showman of Indian film industry, Boney Kapoor said that film producers have always been receiving valuable support in their work in this part of the world from Marwah Films & Video Studios. He was, perhaps referring to shooting of the scenes of films like frame, Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai, Sirf Tum, Loafer, Pukaar, Run, and Bewafa which is currently under production in Noida and other locations in the national capital region. Taking note of the numerous feature films and large number of television programs shot at Marwah Studios in the past 12 years both by the established filmmaking and the newcomers, he remarked that the filmmakers have to rely on the production houses for providing the necessary professional support in the real sense of the word. Hoping that with the support of the state govt. Noida Film City will soon be humming with activity, Sandeep Marwah disclosed that his passion for filmmaking had driven him to produce nearly 800 short fictional films to this day. Speaking on this occasion the heartthrob of millions cinestar Sridevi also lauded the inimitable efforts of Sandeep Marwah for putting Noida on the film-map of the world. At the end of the function Sandeep Marwah said that the Society of Media Arts have decided to request Boney Kapoor to be the first Chancellor of the newly established First Film University of India – “University of Media Arts”. Accepting this proposal Boney Kapoor declared that he would fully support various institutions of this Society. Dr.S. Mahalingam has been proposed to be the Pro-vice Chancellor of the University.

The world renowned director of cinematography Adeep Tandon said that single minded devotion to the pursuit of excellence in every department of film making is essential for surviving in this highly competitive industry.He stated that while it may not be impossible to reach to the top, it is indeed difficult to remain there for a reasonable length of time.Pointing out that there is not short cut to success ,he cited the example of

Hrithik Roshan who has worked his way to fame by sheer dint of hardwork.Adeep Tandon was addressing the students of Asian Academy of Film & Television.Earlier formally introducing the distinguished visitor to the students, Prof Sandeep Marwah mentioned that Adeep Tandon had teamed up with celebrities like Vijay Anand ,Mahesh Bhatt,Ismail merchant, Basu Bhattacharya, Subroto Mitra,Aparna Sen and he has been associated with the production of numerous feature films, docummentaries, advertisement films and television serials both in India and the USA, eversince he graduated from FTII pune in1968.He said that Adeep Tandon is currently working with the evergreen hero and filmmaker Dev Anand whose latest film Censor has just been released.Adeep Tandon is currently shooting two of Dev Anands film entitled ’ LoveI in Time Square’ and ’ Beauty Queen’ . Answering questions he said that film making is invariably team effort and the contribution of those who are behind the camera is as important as of those who are front of it, in this . Pointing out that the technological development have considerably influenced the film production scene, he underlined the importance of formal training in film making.

Prof. Sandeep Marwah was given standing ovation when Dr. H.K. Singh, Director of renowned Jalandhar based Management & Industrial Development Institute(MIDI)announced that the academic council of the Institute has resolved to award Honorary Degree in management to the former for his outstanding contribution to media education and training.

Singh mentioned that this degree will be formally awarded to Prof. Sandeep Marwah during the forthcoming Convocation of the Institute.Addressing the students the Director of MIDI said the general impression that the management training is only for the bussiness is incorrect.As a matter of fact management is essential for effectively handling any human activity including running of household by the lady of the house.Gratefully accepting the rare honour bestowed upon him by MIDI Prof. Sandeep Marwah pointed out that production management is indeed an important component of education and training at the Film schools all over the World.He mentioned that management of the production work is very important in the making of a film or a television presentation. Mismanagement of activities result in delay in the completion of the production work as well as wastage of funds.Good Management Prof. Sandeep Marwah, added, is important even to the actors.

In an obvious reference to the merit of systematic training, the beauty queen turned actress remarked that she feels like taking advantage of the training opportunity offered by Asian Academy of Film & Television. She along with film star Sanjay Kapoor and film director Deepak Shivdasani were visiting Asian Academy of Film & Television on an invitation from Prof. Sandeep Marwah. Addressing the students, film star Sanjay Kapoor said that the hard work put in by the actor as well as his talent rather than a godfather, are what matters in the film industry. He recalled with nostalgia that the first shot of his first commercial film “Prem” was recorded at Marwah Studios, Noida. Answering questions put to him by the students, film director Deepak Shivdasani stated that the emergence of multiplexes all over the country has presented an unprecedented opportunity to the filmmakers. He disclosed that his feature film “Julie” in which Sanjay Kapoor and Neha Dhupia are playing lead roles, will be ready for the release in April next.

Expressing his satisfaction over good friendly relations between India and his country, the ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina HE Zeljko Janjetovic hinted at the possibility of the exchange visits of the journalist of these two countries in the near future. The ambassador of this tiny southern European country was addressing the students of Asian Academy of Film & TV after releasing a book published by the documentation division of the academy in association with the International Film & Television Research Centre. Earlier congratulating Prof. Sandeep Marwah on establishing the first Film University of India which may well be a successor to Nalanda & Taxila, the former Indian diplomatic B.P. Agarwal expressed his concern over present strife and turmoil in the Asian region. He strongly pleaded for the formation of the Asian Union on the lines of the European Union which has resulted in peace and prosperity in that region. Sharing his thoughts with the students, senior bureaucrat Mr. Tanvir Zafar Ali advised them to be above all a good human being. Addressing the students on this occasion, the President of the Cable TV Operators Association Mrs. Roop Sharma mentioned that the twenty thousand crore rupees Indian television industry has generated unprecedented and unlimited opportunities to work for the creative persons and doing business for the others.

Talented, suave and extremely handsome composer of Indian Pop-Music Jawahar Wattal visited Asian Academy of Film & Television.He Exchanged views on the current music scene in the country with the Director of the academy Prof. Sandeep Marwah. Jawahar Wattal had composed the music of Baba Sehgal’ s memorable ’ Dhildhadke’ and since then he has not looked back. He lamented that the unsatiable satellite television channels compel the composers to produce ’ instant-music’ and which naturally affects the quality of their work.He felt that the production of music and the music videos for the numerous music television channels need to be supported by the subject matter experts.He was of the view that world renowned AAFT may take initiative in this matter and assured his full support to Prof. Sandeep Marwah in his work

Strange as it may seem the Africans-nationals with the exception of South Africans, have not yet started making films.The members of the elite group of the heads of African Missions in India have now decided to take necessary steps to correct this situation. The chairman of this group recently requested the outgoing high commissioner of Uganda in India Mr. Joseph Tomusange, to get in touch with the Director of the World renowned Asian Academy Of Film & Television Prof. Sandeep Marwah for seeking his guidance in film-making in various counteries of Africa. The hon’ ble high commissioner of Uganda in India visited Marwah Studios to examine this facility and to hold discussions with Prof. Sandeep Marwah. Later addressing the students of Asian Academy Of Film & Television Mr Joseph Tomusange lamented that Africans are missing the opportunity of using the powerful medium of films & television for building happy , sane and prosperous society.he said that Uganda is called the ’ Pearl Of Africa’ . Describing his country as small but beautiful, he said that Uganda offers excellent locales for the films and television programmes .The high commissioner mentioned that the Indian had been helping in the the development of uganda eversince the eighteenth century.He added that india ranks third amongst his country’ s bussiness partners. Answering questions put to him by the students he confirmed that Indian films are popular in Uganda. Mr. Joseph Tomusange hoped that Asian Academy of Film & Television would soon reach out to the African countries in a big way and help their nationals to get into making of films. The elite group of the heads of African Missions in India would be continuing the dialogue on this subject in right earnest.

The music of feature film Khushi being produced under the living legend Surinder Kapoor’s banner Narsimha Enterprises, was formally launched in a glittering function held a few days ago at New Delhi’s Hotel Maurya. This memorable occasion was graced by the great showman of Indian Film Industry and producer of this film Boney Kapoor and Sridevi; its co-producer Sandeep Marwah of Asian Academy of Film & TV and Reena Marwah; stars of the film Fardeen Khan and Kareena Kapoor and Ramesh Taurani of Tips. The evergreen Sridevi was the centre of attraction at this function. Lyrics written for this film by Sameer have been sung by Hema Sardesai, Alka Yagnik, Sunidhi Chauhan, Udit Narayan and Sonu Nigam. The music for the film has been composed by Anu Malik. Finishing touches are being given to this film which is slated for release in the coming January. Feature film Khushi has been directed by S.J. Suryah.

Prof. Sandeep Marwah has joined hands with the upcoming television personality Ruchita Puri to produce a short film on an unusual subject – the ethos of an Indian royalty under trying circumstances. The story of ’The Widowed Bricks’ centres round the living queen of Kuchesar – a tiny kingdom some 80 km. from the national capital New Delhi . The lady of the house of the ruler of Kuchesar is a rare example of fortitude and a quaint mixture of the tradition and modernity. Educated at a renowned English medium girl’s school, the queen hailing from another tiny kingdom in Haryana state married young and lost her husband few years thereafter. Despite her so called liberal education, tender age, three children to rear and problems due to abolition of Zamindari, the queen has upheld the traditions of thirteen generations of the royality of Kuchesar in the best possible manner. The queen has brought up the two princes so as to carry forward the age-old family traditions to the next generation. Ruchita Puri who written the screenplay after researching the subject matter of the story for nearly two years, was fascinated by the grandeur of Mudfort – the palace of the kings of Kuchesar and the living queen ’s dependence on agriculture and horticulture as the source of revenue. Ruchita Puri was inspired do this project after watching the works of Iranian filmmaker Abbas Kiarostami. Incidentlally, the entie crew of this film was constituted by the handpicked Asian Academy of Film & TV Alumni. The film is almost ready for the release.
