Asian School Of Media Studies celebrated its 8th Festival of Short Films at Marwah Studios with great pomp and show inaugurated by the legend of Indian film industry Shyam Benegal here at Noida.
“It’s a paradise of Cinema, unbelievable work has been done my heartiest congratulations to Sandeep Marwah for bringing Cinema culture to the north of India” said Shyam Benegal while lighting the inaugural lamp of 8th festival of short films.
“Short films are the primary expression of a film maker, learn by doing is the zest at film school. Students should grab this opportunity at once” added Shyam Bengal in a huge gathering of film, TV and media students at ASMS.
“First film city, then Marwah Studios and then establishing Asian film school, Sandeep Marwah is an ideal for thousands of young aspirants all over the World” stated Dr. Dinesh Chief Executive National Union of Cooperative Societies, Government of India.
U. Radhakrishan former Secretary General, Federation of Film societies of India, Dr. AK. Arun Senior Journalist, U.S. Sonthaliya of Magazine Media Fame were also present and spoke on the occasion. The formal function followed by the screening of the films by the students of ASMS.

“When student of cinema makes a good film I would like to give credit to both the student and his education and training at ASMS” said Shyam Banegal at the inauguration of 8th Festival of short films at Marwah Studios Noida Film City.
“This may be my first visit to ASMS but I am thoroughly impressed by the vibrating film environment in the campus” added Shyam Benegal
The excitement of the students, staff and faculty was like a sun rise with the coming of Shyam Benegal who saw some of the student’s film and appreciated their work of fiction and documentary.

Fiction films which are shown in the festival are ‘Psycho’ directed by Hemant , ‘A Blind Date’ by Chirag Mehra, ‘Good Morning’ by Dhruv Kapoor, ‘The Last Call’ by Deven Mohanan, ‘Love Language’ by Gurneet Kaur, ‘Soch’ by Anirudh, ‘36″24″36 – The size of mistake’ by Naga Sudarshan, ‘An Hour’ direcred by Mohit Gaur, ‘Teesra’ by Micheal Muchahary, ‘Love Above All’ by Nitin Verma, ‘Wanted’ by Sng Pearson, ‘I Can Read You Like A Book’ by Prince Papi and

Films and Theatre Society (FTS) recently organized the second edition of the Rang festival — a festival of theatre, photography and short films in Delhi. Founded by Atul Satya Kaushik, FTS owes its genesis to the fertile environs of Delhi University.
Every Film Maker starts his carrier with making of a short film. It is so important to give opportunity to young film makers so that they can nourish to a bigger and better film makers. Short films are the beginners paradise” said Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios while inaugurating the Art festival & Cinesthesia of short films at Alliance Francaise De Delhi.
The festival had six theatre productions — Arjun ka Beta, Jamuna, Koobar aur Kaaki, Bade Shahar ke Log. Living In… and Animal Farm. All the plays have been written by Kaushik, with Koobar aur Kaaki adapted from the works of Bharati and Premchand, and Animal Farm from George Orwell’s novel.
.Of the 80 entries received, 12 films were short listed by the judging panel and showcased before the audience. The films were on various topics — from animation and student projects to professional documentaries.
For the photography festival, online polling ensued for the 200 received entries out of which six wiere chosen as winners by photographers Dheeraj Paul and T.S. Das.

“A good literature can always influence mind and lead to better reactions, which we had seen earlier at the time of independence also. Shiv Kumar Rai book ‘MERI JATI BHARTIYA ” will also do the same to bring Indians close to each other and spread unity among them” said an international media person Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios on the launch of book release of a renowned journalist Dr. Shiv Kumar Rai at India International Centre.
“ Every one has to try and put efforts towards developing better relations then only you can see the results in a huge country like India” added Marwah while giving example of how he deleted the columns of cast and religion from the application forms of all his institutions under Asian Education Group.
Prominent people like film writer and Director Muzzafar Ali, kathak exponent and classical singer Birju Maharaj, Secretary Broadcasters Editors Association N.K.Singh, Director General DD News S.M.Khan and renowned journalist Salma Zaidi also spoke on the occasion.
